Re: chine blocks for travel lift
I wish I had the benefit of this collective knowledge last summer when I needed a short haul on our yacht club summer cruise. I limped into the high end marina on one of my twin engines as I picked up of all things a Rubbermaid garbage can lid impaled on my port prop. While the dock master assured m...

She runs fine and fast however now that I plan to do some extensive ICW cruising, I need to measure fuel useage so I may find the most e...

Re: New Boat
A Delaware corporation is helpful for other reasons but not necessary for state registration nor tax avoidance (however you should always run this type of decision by your tax attorney or accountant).

Re: New Boat
Or you could register your boat in Delaware where we have neither titles nor sales or use taxes. All you need is a bill of sale and most boat supply stores can do it for you. They don't even care that the boat is not in Delaware. Did you ever wonder why so many boats have their hailing port as Wilmi...

Re: 1954 Zephyr Kit Boat
I agree that you must have a Barracuda model. I assembled one in the mid 50s. You may want to search out Jim Shotwell, he is active in the ACBS and other clubs. About 10 years ago he started James Craft which built and sold exact replica kits of Chris Craft kit boats. I believe he had some original ...

Re: Soaking original bottom before bottom paint?
I recently acquired a 1955 37' Chris Craft Commander that has been in a storage building for the past 5 years. The survey indicated the wood in great condition. The marina/ boat yard where the boat has resided for the past 30 years and which was a Chris Craft dealer back in the day did the following...

Worm damage
I just acquired a 1955 37' Chris Craft Commander 4 sleeper version. She just passed survey with flying colors, in fact the surveyor told me she belongs in a museum. Some people tell me that if I take her to Florida next winter, the worms will do serious damage. Is this accurate and is there a way to ...
