I have also been waiting on a reply to emails, phone calls to Stuart McDowell for 4-5 days. If he contacts me I'll ask him about others trying to get in touch with him. Maybe he'll respond to some of us.Course he's in Minnesota and I am in Alabama where it's 80 degrees during the day this week.Maybe...

Byron Hundley

Interesting man to talk to this Byron Hundles. He will answer the phone and reply promptly if you leave a message. Google Hundley Chris Craft to find his site listing tons of Chris Craft parts. Great guy to converse with. Hope you don't have tender ears. He's one of a lost era still around.

Wade Plating and Technologies was at the Sunnyland show in Tavares 2 years ago. They had their trailers and tents set up with a lot of hardware for sale at good prices. They also were getting items to carrry back to Philadelphia. Don't know if they will be in attendance this year or not. A highly re...

Bendix D1-9 Depth Finder

Can anyone tell me if the Bendix D1-9 depth finder Chris Craft offered as an option in the late 50's to early 60's is 6 or 12 volt. I can across this one rummaging thru a box of parts in the 1956 Sea Skiff I purchased a few years ago. It even has the transducer and intact cable. I am going to hook i...

Need help in horn button assembly. I am in the process of putting my horn button back together and can't find my pictures of before. I've got it all figured out except for the orientation of the dish shaped washer that holds the black horn button in place inside the throttle bracket. By the way, thi...

I know this site is not to be used as a selling site but I have an opportunity to help a Chris-Craft user. I am in the process of rebuilding a 283 for my Sea Skiff. It is my opinion you would be better off to take Bret's advice and purchase long block Chevy 350's for replacement. It's great to have a Sea Skiff place of our own. I hope to have mine ready for the Lake Hartwell show. I have a 1957 18' slowly getting there. Replacing the original engine with a 283 and hydraulic transmission.

Craig, It's good to hear from you on the forum. In regards to the Fein being used to cut the Thiokol on the lapstrakes, Don Danenberg's book volume 2 covers the tool usage really well. Has anyone compared the RockWell Sonacrafter multitool to the Feinmaster. The Rockwell is less than half the Fein, but is there that much difference to warrant paying the difference. Both advertise doing the same tasks but any first hand comparisons would be appreciated.

Richard,

Try Sea Ray of Knoxville @865-691-6731. Email @ www.searayofknoxville.com.
They are a huge Sea Ray dealer and always seem to have a lot of boats on hand. I would think being near 2 Sea Ray mfg. plants they would have some demo's to rent.
