If the 7944 is to tall, use 7945. Same fit, just shorter.

Trouble is if you find a NOS Lovett, the rubberized belt is most likely rotted, cracked, or stretched. Lovett also sold a belt kit, but if you found one, same problem. The Lovett boys still live in Somers Point, NJ. Years ago we restored a U-22 once owned by the family.

As Brian mentioned, Jim Staib has Frearson screwdrivers. Also believe it or not, I found Frearson screwdrivers in the mall at Sears.

Easy job to do in the boat. Do them one at a time, and you can use a 2x4 to leverage off the stringer for lift. You don't need much lift, just take the weight off. Done it dozens of times. Good luck!

Oh, ok I know what your talking about. I wouldn't call that a cutwater. It's a brass half round that's chrome plated, that's original. I think it's the term cutwater that threw me off.
