Does anyone have information on where I might purchase a new or used Buick V6 Exhaust manifold made by Thermocon-Develvo Patent # 3-105-472 9 &885 SCC? Original part was manufactured in 6/7/65.
I purchased a manifold from am OMC but it will not work.

Starboard Exhaust Manifold
It is the manifold. Looks like some one tried to patch it with bondo over some welding. Found a place to purchase a replacement today. I guess 42 years was enough for this manifold.

Paul: The 18' has the electric stringer out drive. It has the 225 CI Buick V6 rated at 150 Horse. The drive will tilt but is not a trim unit. You can lift at low speeds but have to watch your heat gauge if you do. trim was not out yet in 66. I think the trim tabs would be the thing as pictures indic...

Thanks for the information I will locate the products you recomend. It will make my repair a better job and that was the reason for asking. I do have a palm sander, both electric and air of which I also got at Harbor Freight, at least the air unit. The repairs to the bottom of the hull are small and...

1966 18' Sea Skiff Flooring
I intend to remove the rotten white batten board floor in the boat and replace it with a new Teak floor over 1/2 marine plywood. I know this is not original but I think it would improve the boat. I think an oil finish would be better then a varnish finish but have read several messages about the gre...

I thank you so much for all your help to date. I am going to keep her green all the way down. I did discover that the brown is some type of anti foul paint. I discovered this doing trailer repair. I almost did not make it home with the boat and blew out an axle three miles from the house so my first...

Gel Coat/ Paint
Thanks Bill for chiming in on the subject. When I read your post I quit looking at automotive paints and started looking at the gel coats. Thus my question had anybody used the pre mixed colored gel coat from Jamestown? I don't have a color eye so I did not want a kit where I had to mix the color to...

Gel Coat/ Paint
I read it in a post from Bill Basler to TGBCRAZY on his reasearch of re-gelcoat. My original thought was 2 part expoxy. Bill advised that automotive paints just do not hold up to water. Did you use a special 2 part expoxy? As best as I can find out the original boat was green and white. I have seen ...

Hi Craig; Thanks for the info. The boat is glass and I don't want to spend the cost of a professional. To me restoration of a boat is for me to do to make it worth the effort. The bottom 1/3 of the boat is the area that needs help. The top part has some nicks but still shines. One person told me to s...

Bill: Thanks for the reply, The pictures you sent are what I based my thought that the entire bottom is green, but have seen several pictures of the boat with a brown bottom. I was out with the boat working on the trailer and took some wet sandpaper and I was able to take off the brown very easy whi...

1966 Sea Skiff Original Colors?
When I purchased my 66 Sea Skiff the bottom section is brown then a white strip, then green and with a white top. Does anyone know the true original color combination of a 1966 18" Sea Skiff Sportsman? Pictures that Paul sent me show the brown bottom but also show a green bottom with white line. A p...

Colored Gelcoat
I am thinking of using a product from Jamestown Distributors. The MSDS lists it as AE-353-NUU produced by Interplastic Corp. It is a pre-colored Gelcoat. Has anyone used this product? If so, will it be a good product to apply to my 1966 Sea Skiff? I do not want to use paint.

My Sea Skiff is Dark Green but after 42 years I am sure it is not the original color. The Hull is 80% good from the white line up. Below the white line someone painted it brown which is mostly gone. The very bottom looks rough and will need some repair. I have looked at paint, Gelcoat products and Ep...
