Any luck?
I rebuilt mine over a year ago. Rebuild kits were not cheap but third of the price of a new one. I'll have to dig up the box of parts and re-research what I did... but I will if you still need answers.

Or better yet, upgrade to a 350 Chevy, same blocks, although the 327 is one of my all time favorite motors! Something about that small journal, short stroke 4" bore!!!

Here's Cory clamping the sections of the aft deck in place.
The pieces are cut at an angle tie-in and to support the ends of the curved deck planks.
All the edges and end grain were treated prior to final fitment.

When we stripped the vinyl from the aft deck of our cruiser, the bungs were filled with putty. We varnished over them and went with the bowling alley look. I'll to find a picture...

We used African mahogany and Sapele. Mahogany was in short supply last year, so we went with Sapele on the hull sides. Sapele is harder than mahogany, but it looks real nice. All the Sapele is primed and painted.

She took in very little water. I sealed all the seams that were starting to open up with Slick Seam.
