Re: Sea-Skiff with 2 cracked ribs
I was able to do a more definitive repair on the broken ribs (2) and cracked ribs (2) in the past two months. Working in the parkway by my summer home on 4 day long weekends. I returned to my home and shop to fabricate the needed woodwork and gather the tools for the next couple steps. For the defec...

trailer bunk placement for a 24' Sea-Skiff
I would like to know the correct distance from the keel to mount the inner bunks that run from the transom forward to the forward seats. Also where to align the outer bunks for the outer stringers.

Sea-Skiff with 2 cracked ribs
My 1963 24' S-S sportsman utility started to leak profusely. I checked under the port floorboards and saw that there were 2 cracked ribs directly under the port front seat. Difficult area to access without removing the entire seat/floorboards. The 2 screws that were into these ribs vibrated loose an...

Re: 327 Chevy engine oil cooler
I have a Chevy 327 with a Barr Marine conversion/Capitol manual transmission. Rebuilt/blueprinted with 9:1 pistons and a mild cam. Some other members in the ACBS club told me that CC put oil coolers on some models. I know that the off shore boats have remote oil filters and have plumbed into their l...

Lapstrake planks water leaks
I have a 1963 S -S sportsman, 24’ that has two or more areas of plank/leaks. Can I caulk these areas from the outside with 5200 sealant? Do I need to tighten the planks with through bolt/nuts to regain water tightness?

327 Chevy engine oil cooler
What kind of adapters did C-C use to put an inline engine oil cooler/ remote oil filter?
If you have one, I would appreciate a photo or two of this set up. I have a ‘63 S-S sportsman 24’.

Re: What were the original colors on a 1958 Cavalier, 15 ft
The '57 and '58 Cavaliers had the C-C red mahogany stain on the deck and hull sides. There is a 3-5 inch wide strip of white polyurethane paint, dulled with a sheen reducer to an egg shell to satin sheen. I used from 10 to 12 coats of the high gloss Interlux polyurethane varnish to build up a nice g...

Barr Marine conversion parts
I have a 1963 C-C Sea Skiff with a 327 Chevy Barr Marine conversion engine. Due to overheating, the starboard cylinder head gasket blew. I have now taken the engine out of the boat to remove all the water/oil sludge from the crankcase and other parts. I would like to know of where to buy new gaskets...

Tachometer cable lube steps
I have a 24' Sea-Skiff with a C-C 327 and cable drive tach. The tach now makes a noise at 2200rpm and up. How do I put some lube into the shielded cable?
