Manuals of various years and items
I bought a package called Ships Papers that came in a white Chris Craft zipper pack for a 1959 40' Connie. I don't think most of it covers this boat based I what I found: The only date found in the blue owners manual refers to the 1971 safe boat act. The date of the pink operators manual is 7/83 rep...

I found three of these on the boat, uninstalled, and have no idea what they would be for. Any ideas?

Re: 1959 40' Connie Mast Questions
Surfing the web and eBay I found what was original and missing. Found the missing anchor light mast extension on the boat. The jetson light is missing so I'll have to make do else ways. Repainted the mast and cross arms brown, removed the paint from the anchor light. Here is the finished product. ht...

Fuel line size 3/8" to 5/16" for electric fuel pump
Need some advice. On our last Connie I install electric fuel pumps to prime the carb's. Not a problem as the lines were 5/16". The new to use Connie has 3/8" fuel lines. It has 454 but I'll never open up the four barrels and cruise around 2500 rpm. Any problem with using the electric fuel pump that ...

Re: Restoration?
I can relate as I did the same with our previous 1961 32' Connie. However, the previous owner twice back re-stained the interior the darker 1958-60 color and I was not going to try to go back to the lighter stain. It's plywood so not much sanding room. I do love the period look and options. Go with ...

Re: I'm Back with a new old boat
You have some interesting plant species growing in your bilge. Just out of curiosity was Lucky Girl a fresh or salt water boat? That kind of rot looks like a case of water sitting in those bad areas for to long. Standing fresh water will do the damage much quicker than salt. Gotta get her on the ha...

Re: I'm Back with a new old boat
My wife (not me) is into dog shows ($$$$$) and she was not using it. I figured I could not afford both. I also had this "thing" about having something and spending money for it to sit and not be used for months on end... so I sold it. That is the very same reason I passed on this boat until she begg...

Bottom work is schedule for Feb. 2016. Looking at doing this before hand as I would like to get the decks sealed up before it starts to rain. We all know it has stopped raining in California. 1959 cruiser deck framing question
Hello all. Got a question on framing. Looking for answer or photo. While redoing the shore power connection I discovered why the side decks are soft. The framing is bad and looks to have been "fixed" (incorrectly) at one time. The area is on a 40' Connie where the upper fore deck drops down for the ...

Re: I'm Back with a new old boat
I'm ripping most of the wiring out. Wire is coming out of the connectors (where they are used) and finding the wrong wire type/size plus no overcorrect protection. I'm glad I had all the breakers off except what was absolutely needed to move the boat. the 120V only powers the original plugs and a te...

We made the move. https://youtu.be/nRZUn3gSoNU Some leaks when plowing up river - it think from opened planks that dried out above the water line sitting exposed for two years. Re: Sold my Connie
The talk of giving the boat away and being too old is not helpful to the hobby... Make up a story that some one offer you more than you thought is was worth and you could not pass it up.

Re: I'm Back with a new old boat
Did not move her over Labor Day Weekend. The yard was to change the impellers and starboard fuel pump. When changing the fuel pump they hit the raw water cooling intake and cracked it. Gal not bronze... I knew it had gate valves and figured that would be changed at the winter haul out. Well the gate...

I'm thinking about pulling up the teak on the fore deck and going with Plywood painted white with anti-slip like my last boat (below). I'm Back with a new old boat
After I sold Broken Rule, 1961 32' Connie, last year I though I was done. However, after a hot summer and no boat on the water to escape to I felt the need. But I'm a cheap skate so I started looking at single engine 25 - 29 foot Chris Crafts from 1978-1980. They would not do. I put in an offer on a...
