Lil' Plastic Thingy I Found In My Bilge

Hello all, So quick Readers Digest Version of my past eve. Went for a boat ride last night, parked in middle of lake. prop shaft slides out of coupling on motor, and panic ensues. We start to paddling, and finally a nice fella drags me in, and all is well. While looking for the keyway that is lying ...

Stern Ensign For a 1961 Ski Boat

Hey all, I tried searching for info about how big a stern ensign should be for my 61, but was finding a lot of pre-war stuff. I have a flag on the pole, but it's too big. I know this because it damn near touches the water, AND it almost tore the mount right out of the back of the boat. So, 2 good in...

Oil Pressure Sender For My Gauge On My '61

Hey folks, so I'm having an issue finding an oil sender for my 61' Ski Boat. It has a 283 in it and the gauge is 0-60psi. It is one of the bell shaped sender in it, but it's wrong. It's an 80psi. Question; what does everyone use for that gauge so it actually works properly? I'm sure the right one is...

Re: Very Sad News:

I am truly saddened by this news. I wanted to thank him for my article in the last Brass Bell. I sent off a couple emails to thank him, and never got a response. It was then I found out he wasn't feeling good. I hoped he'd get better and we would talk again. Sadly this isn't going to happen. I only ...

Re: New Trailer. Single or Dual Axle??

Thanks for the input everyone! I mostly tow it too and from a couple of local lakes here. About 25 to 45 mins away, depending on which one I go to. But I do travel 3 or 4 times a year over 3 hours from my house. Which is why the conundrum. As I do more investigating on trailers and stuff, I'm going...

New Trailer. Single or Dual Axle??

Hey folks! I am losing some sleep over this question. I'm getting a new trailer made. 17' CC Ski Boat. An everything is straight forward, except, do I want single or dual axles. I have heard some good, and bad about going from a single to a dual axle trailer. But I figured I'd post the question her...

Bow Lights. Any Ideas?

I got these at a local swap meet. Thought they were kinda cool. Anyone know what they might be from?

Or at least why one would have blue and red, not green and red?

ALSO, I've tried everything to get these bloody things to load upright, and they wont.

Such a bummer. I'd take a flood over fire any day. Fire is so final. My little '61 Ski Boat came from that plant. :(

My Trani, What Is It?

Hey folks! So last fall when we pulled the motor out of Muzzy, there was a bit of pink oil around the back of the trani, in the bildge. It is coming out of the rear seal by the looks of it. Here is my transmission. http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r289/wagonmaster59/null_zps1011d404.jpg Anyway, I...

One more question. I need the white paint for the water line. Is the same as the "Boot Paint" which is listed on the list at the top in my first post, and if so, whats the new # for it, because I can't seem to find it anywhere by the 80-101 #. I guess my other question would be, would any enamal pa...

Hello All! So the hull sides will be getting sanded so that the boards that were put on will blend in nice. I have a sheet from the Maritime Museum called the "Decorative Styling Specifications".
