Re: K Engine RPM for 1941 17' Deluxe Runabout

I have a 1947 post war 17 Ft. Deluxe with a K. It will top out at 3200 rpm, and I think about 30 to 32 mph. However, I am turning a 12 x 12 prop which is specified for my boat. 3500 rpm sounds pretty fast for a K engine.

A correction from my previous reply. The cockpit deck was teak.

Re: 1948 30' SEDAN REAR COCKPIT MATERIAL

As a teenager, I spent many hours working on and cruising on my Uncle's 1949 30 ft. CC Sedan. Since we replaced a few hull planks over the years, I know they were mahogany. The cockpit deck was cedar. Could you post a photo of your boat. I have never seen another one like he had.

Re: Bilge cleaner

Pine Sol liquid also works well and leaves a nice aroma when complete.

Hi Jim,

Great to see you and John are going to save another great boat. I would love to see you post photos of the restoration on the chapter web site. I will be anxious to see another boat completed with the same quality a Tight Lines.

I was made aware of the same shortage several months ago. I was recently told by a reliable source that it is all going to China.

Chad

Classic Boat Connection has the valve cover decals. They only show the 210HP 327 in their catalog, but it is worth a phone call to see if they have the QA.

Thank you all for the feedback. It sounds like I have a 1957 and I will be titling her as such in the near future.

Model Year for my Continental

I am restoring a 20' Continental, hull number 189 (CL-20-189)of 221. I did not get a title or past registration with the boat to define what model year it is. I acquired the hull card from the Mariners Museum and discussed the boat with them. They said it could be either a 1956 or 1957, based on the...
