Re: Casters for boat cradle
Jim I have a complete galvanized cradle i had under my 20 Holiday. It is what you would see in a showroom. Fully adjustible and brakes down very easily for transport. You are welcome to it-i no longer use it. I am in Grosse Pointe south of Vernier East of Mack. Shoot me a message if you would like i...

Re: Best way to secure transome to trailer?
Cut the hook off the end of your strap. put a hook on your winch stand. run the strap through the lifting ring and back to the hook on your stand. Now there is no chance of dropping the hook on the deck.

Re: Original 283: Refurbrish or rebuiild ??
Do the compression test. As long as it is close I would leave the internals alone. 283 will run forever. One of the most problem areas I have found with them is the distributor. The springs and the weights tend to rust and get hung up. Most of the time they can be cleaned up and lubricated.

Looking for stain colors for my 62 Holiday. Attached are a couple photos off line that have been my inspiration. Anyone know what the hull and transom coors may be on this boat?

Re: Rolled
The boat will never be left in the water. The current bottom is original and therefore would need to soak for every use. They just were not designed to last 50+ years. All of my boating is done on big water-Lake St Clair, Detroit river and St Clair river. For safety sake, I wouldn't chanced that bot...

Bilge.jpg It will be a 5200 bottom. Don't shoot me but I may reuse the exterior wood. I am sure I will find some needed repairs once it is apart, but to this point I can't find any rot or damaged frames from the inside. Even the joints between the frames and chines are tight. I will be sure to keep...

Got a little bored before work this morning and flipped it over. Only took about an hour-would have been much faster with a second set of hands. Can't wait to tackle the bottom.

Jim I have to believe that would be the same tank. I would appreciate the drawings. I could measure to fit off that. It should be the round barrel type.
Thanks in advance,

Fuel tank measurements
Has anyone had a fuel tank made for a 1962 Holiday 20 or Supersport. The boat I am restoring has had the fuel tank replaced with a rectangular one. I would like to have a new one made by Kherig Manufacturing however I don't have any dimensions of the original. If I had the diameter and and length I ...

Was hoping to get some more insight on the positive ground. It will get changed to negative. Amazing it ran so well after sitting for at least 7 ye...

Re: 12v positive ground
Here are some pics of the wiring. you can see the red wire goes directly to the block at the front of the engine. I assumed that was the positive wire when I hooked it to the battery being red. the brown/beige wire I hooked to ground.

Re: 12v positive ground
Engine is original 283 flywheel forward. blue wire from harness goes to positive side of the coil. Negative from coil goes to distributor.
What would be involved with converting to negative ground?

Purchased a 62 Holiday 3 years ago that had been sitting several years prior. After purchasing I stored it for three years. Now its time to get started on restoration. Re: KBL Engine Timing Mark(s)
I would set up a dial indicator through a spark plug hole to be sure. Then make a permanent reference on the engine for future use.
Most of the guys just get the timing close, then set it by ear once the boat is under load.

Re: HELP....... I can't get my prop shaft loose
With the key out you can try tapping the flange further onto the shaft. Get it to come through the front of the flange enough so you can sand or lightly file the end. It sounds like the end of it is mushroomed. Next put a couple flange bolts back in but just hand tight! Nor take a block of wood and ...

Re: HELP....... I can't get my prop shaft loose
You can take a drift and try to push the keyway out through the end of the flange. You will have to reinstall your packing nut and screw it down as much as possible to gain clearance. Reinstall the flange on the trans with a couple bolts (hand tight is fine) however space it out with a couple washer...

First thing to try is removing the wire from the sender. With the key on it should read zero. Now touch the wire to ground and the gage should peg all the way over. If it doesnt move when grounded then you have a problem with the gage. Also be sure the wires are in the correct locations on the gage....

Bilge color
I am starting a new project on a 1955 Holiday. The bilge is faded green everywhere. I have pulled everything apart and all I see is green-no way someone could have changed it. Did the factory ever use green bilge paint.
