Re: Are there any XK 19 out there for sale?
Is the hull on the 1969 19' lancer the same as the SS? Just with a different cap?

Are there any XK 19 out there for sale?
My winter dreaming has me thinking about the Century Arabian with a 440 or a Chris craft XK 19. I've looked at the Century and really would love the sound and feel of the big block but I don't want to give up on the Chris Craft. Are there any XK's or Commander SS for sale. I've checked all the usual...

Re: 1950 U22
Thanks for the info guys. I'm new to the hobby and dream about finding that barn find and I never would have guessed that I would find one in a boat house on Pewaukee lake. I guess I'll pass on this one.

Re: 1950 U22
I think the boat is very restorable, I even think it could be cleaned up, maybe put a new bottom on it and use it. I offered $10000 which I felt was a strong offer.

1950 U22
Why do people think that these boats are worth a ton of money? I recently found a U22 that been tucked away in a boat house since 1972. I only had a few minutes to look at it but it looks all there, all hardware appears to be there, cut water has a bolt hole in it deck by the windshield has a radio ...

1970 ski boat
Need some help here guys. I'm looking at two boats. First is a 1970 chris craft ski boat, red. Looks in ok shape, at some point someone put a jasper engine in it with what looks like a bunch of automobile parts. Front seat has been removed and replaced with some fishing seats and it has a few soft s...

Re: Hull number location
The previous owner took the heads and manifolds off the engine and then left it open to the elements for years. Does not look like it will ever run again and I also would never really want it in the boat. You say get rid of it, do you really think I should just junk it and sell what ever trim pieces...

Re: Hull number location
Yes it is Oldsmobile powered. I really dont know what possessed me to buy this boat. Being a younger person getting involved in this hobby it really upsets me to see all these antique and classic boats left out to die in some parking lot. Looking the boat over there really isn't any wood worth savin...

Re: Hull number location
I'm still looking for a number, I think the previous owner let this boat go way to long. Every spot that I would expect to find the number is either missing or so rotten away that I can't find it.

Hull number location
Just picked up what I believe to be a 1947 22 Chris Craft sedan and I'm trying to find the hull number. Where would be a good place to look? It's also missing a lot of pieces so the usual places to look may be gone. I will be posting a lot of follow up questions as I get further into the boat.

Re: Transmission
Just did a little double checking on the paragon hydraulic and it is a standard rotation direct drive. Looked a little closer at the engine as well and it is all there and spins over. My plan at this point is to squirt some extra oil down each cylinder and let it soak for a few days, fresh gas and p...

Transmission
Just picked up two different complete 283's. The first one is a late 50's with the manual gear box and the other is from 67 and it has the hydraulic paragon on it. Both have been sitting for 10-15 years and both look to be in good shape. Which transmission would be the better one to go with. I am as...

I'm in Wisconsin. If anyone has a complete 283 I would be interested in that as well.

I need transmission help. What different transmissions did chris craft use? Can I take the trans off my KL and use it on a 283? I found a 283 that I would like to install in my project but it has the larger cruiser tranny on it. Can I bolt on the trannny off my K or KL?

Paint
Another paint question. Are the original Sea Skiff colors gloss or are they flat. For some reason I thought the paint they used was flat.

Re: Paint colors
My build sheet does not list a color so I quess it was white. The next color the boat was painted looks like the green color which is really starting to grow on me although the gray might look good as well.
