Re: Ammeter Needle
I have removed amp gauge and needle still is frozen at minus 10 amps. Do you think it was damaged if wired incorrectly and if so how could it be repaired?

Ammeter Needle
I had my Ammeter on a 1956 Capri rewired after a dash upholstery restoration and the gauge needle is fixed at -10 amps with engine off or on. I'm not sure if it was rewired wrong or isolating washers on positive and negative gauge terminals were missing energized and damaged and if so how can it be ...

Wandering RPM Curred !
I had many problems this year with my KBL engine which I'm happy to say I finally fixed. With the help of all of you who sent me suggestions I replaced the fuel filter, removed and cleaned the triple carbs and replaced the coil, condensor and distributor cap. The Capri runs smoothly thanks to the RAZ...

Wandering Rpm
I 've been trying to get my KBL triple carb to run smoothly with little success. I had the first (2)spark plugs fouling. I pulled off carbs and cleaned each, found out they had fixed primary jet but also discovered that the #1 carb ,opposite fouling plugs, had pump lever on backwards which caused pu...

KBL RPM Problem
As you recall my KBL is fouling plug #1 & #2 and I cannot get over 2300 RPM. 1. Ordered Unisym carb Sychronizer 14.95 ebay 2. All choke plates wide open 3. Checked head bolts torque and found 3 bolts under torqued, bolt #24,#18 and #5. Retorqued all bolts per Chris Craft torque sequence chart from M...

KBL RPM Problem
I run KBL in Finger Lakes of NY, we are not in high altitude. I checked spark plugs 1 & 2 which are black and wet. I'm not sure if 1st carberator is to rich causing these plugs to foul or what. The Zenith carb has a fixed jet so I can't adjust the high speed mixture. I did turn low speed idle fuel n...

KBL RPM Problem
Thanks RAZZ, I will try both timing and fuel mixture to increase the rpms. I touched nothing when I ran it for the first 2 hours. It did have new plugs and if mixture was too rich on one of the carbs it could of fouled a plug or two. I will get back to you after I investigate this weekend. Seneca Ma...

KBL RPM Problem
My KBL 131 hp triple starts and runs great up to 2300 rpm. It will not exceed that 2300 rpm barrier no matter how much throttle I give it. Can someone please suggest what the problem might be and what steps I need to take to diagnosis it? It ran full rpm when I first launched it, about 2 engine hour...

Water in Oil
I found grey colored oil on dipstick after I ran KBL Capri after launching boat which took on alot of water at steep launch angle. I beleived water ran into dipstick and contaminated my oil. Either that or a cracked manifold or block. On good advice, from the RAZZ, I drained oil, flushed with gummout...

Water in the Oil
Thanks for the quick reply Jerry !
I bought the oil for a complete flush this week. The Napa fellow suggested I might substitute kerosene for the Gumout as it contains some lubricants and will do the same job .
What do you think of using kerosene?

Water in the oil
I recently launched a dry boat and took on a lot of water and hurriedly had to pull her out. I soaked the boat with a hose for a couple of days and relaunched. Leaks were manageable and I started my '56 Capri KBL and made a run for my boat hoist. Boat ran well for about 15 minutes at 2500 RPM but wo...

1956 Capri KBL 131 Prop/Rudder
Please tell me the factory distance between rudder and end of shaft as it appears I do not have enough clearance to slide prop off. I have approximately :D two inches clear and the 13" x 13"prop hub is 3-3/4". The rudder looks difficult to get at as the gas tank is blocking access. Please discribe h...
