Please take the time to take these two polls. These will help me make some tough decisions, as we work toward getting the Chris-Craft Antique Boat Club on solid footing.

I am seeing some reasons for optimism in the past few weeks. The Summer Brass Bell is complete and at the printer. You will soon be getting an email from me, letting you all know where you can download the issue. Our plan is to package Spring and Summer together and mail in one mailing. This will ho...

Razz: Your outdrive is entirely different than my Type I drive. Mine predates yours by nearly 30 years. The shifting mechanism is entirely different. I do have the advantage of having a family Mercruiser mechanic that I can call for help at any time. Here are some things to check: Stand the unit upr...

Ah, I should have caught that. I think Brian is right on the Navy Top thought. But I think ccrosby61 may be as well. I always wondered what the wooden frame windshields were referred to. Perhaps this is the Navy Windshield? At any rate, below you will find a Navy top and wood framed (Navy?) windshie...

This is a war era U-22 in Army trim. I have to be honest and say, I do not know specifically what the Navy windshield looked like, but I would guess that it was the same for all military issue Utilities. Maybe we have someone among us who knows for sure. http://s7.postimage.org/4c5di9zlj/1941_Chris_...

Ed, this is a great job keeping the authentic color scheme documented and alive. We are asked often, "what is the correct color of blue." It sounds like you had a good preserved sample, and it appears that the color is right on...at least with what I imagine that it might have been. The aqua and bei...

I should say that the Museum staff has been very willing to do the heavy lifting for the Chris-Craft Antique Boat Club. For example, our upcoming retrospective on the 20 Custom has 367 hull records transcribed and loaded into an Excel spreadsheet. We are publishing this information with the Museum's...

Your K would have been the dark blue. You can see this link for more details. See pages 38 through 41.
The pre war blue was much darker than the post war blues. It was also a bit "duller" less brilliant.

I am watching here on the sidelines reading every word. If I can offer one interesting and maybe very obvious observation, it is that nearly every email and phone call that I receive says, "Keep the Bell in print—don't take that from me!" To the contrary, here on Boat Buzz, I hear a willingness to d...

Chris-Craft Needed for Photo Shoot Lake Mead Las Vegas Area
I got a phone cal yesterday from a photo studio. They are needing to source a Chris-Craft runabout for a photo shoot to take place early next week. Pay is approximately $1,000.00. The boat will be filmed from a helicopter, and the focus will be on the boat and its wake while driving in a circular ro...

Matt, you're essentially on track. The point is if you renew for a year, you will get four issues, regardless of when they mail. Most of our members would disagree with you (in part) as they want their Brass Bells, and the delivery of their magazine is the ultimate gauge of whether their membership ...

More on this later all, as I am between meetings right now. Al is correct, the actual mailing of a Brass Bell is what triggers us to go from one quarter to the next. We essentially cheated this quarter, as we saw that renewals were coming in so late. We changed the "flag" that updates our system to ...
