Sorry,, "Greg".. It would seem to me the Water WAys may be more expensive since they used Hollywood stars in them.. ?? I do like the 1937 with Joan Crawford and Clark Gable..

Thanks.. Wonder why they made the water ways so large then if they were mailed. Most of mine do not show any signs of being folded.
Only have interest in full catalogs and Water Ways. Pass on all the other ones.

Water Ways vs Chris*Craft Catalog

Having collected most of the Water Way catalogs and most of the CC catalogs from 1930 thru 1969, I have never learned WHY the Water Ways publication was made. Was it a midyear publication? One year in particular fasinates me. In 1934 there were two Water Ways published. One oviously early in the yea...

1937 40' Dbl Cbn Cruiser

I am currently building a couple of models of said cruiser. Have the plans from the museum, Jerrys book, and a Waterways catalog from 1937. My problem is that the line drawings differ from the profile drawing which differs from the Waterways pic which differs from Jerrys pic in the Essential Guide. ...

Waterways catalog questions

Don, this may be for you. Or perhaps I need to go to Chris Smith again. Besides being a CC cruiser modeler, (ChrisCraftModels.com) I also collect CC catalogs from about 1930 through 1968. I recently aqquired 12 Waterways. Since they were never dated, I generally go by Jerry Conrads book to figure ou...

RR... Usually around $2,400-$2,600 depending on what you want. 1/3 down when I start, 13 mos to completion. (So many models to build, so little time!) Right now it will be about two years before I can take on another. Promised several persons different boats. However can give you a model of a 1963 4...

'37 40' Dbl Cbn Cruis, '39 41' Cus Exp, '46 20' Cus Runabt

The members have always been helpful in supplying me w/pictures, and information of any boat I needed in my quest to build models of them. Any h...

I was fortunate enough to finally get to the museum in July. I opened the doors at 10am and my wife pulled me out at 3:30pm. I loved it! I just had some dealings w/Jim Hoooker at the CC library and ordered several boat plans and was pleased with the extra service Jim provided including digging in th...

The way they filed the drawings makes it confusing sometimes. Once they told me they didn't have a particular drawing, so I asked for it by another name and they found it. Also sometimes a drawing is for say a 1954, but CC used the same drawing to make the 1955 but the museum will tell you they don'...

Bret, rethinking this entire thing. There are guys who build model hulls using a CAD computer program, and make glass hulls from the program. (I know it is sinful to make a plastic hull for a wooden boat) No props, stuffing box, rudders, struts. They can do it a lot cheaper and faster then I can. I ...

Just thought of a possibly very large problem.. I know the CC museum doesn't have the line drawings for the 36' Commander from previous correspondence w/them..At least they don't know they have it if they do.. Personally I think the 37' is the same boat w/bow slanted forward. No idea about the 35'.....
