Re: 1958 Cavalier Hull Damage

That's a good question. I just did one of these last week. I posted that late last night. Yes, it would have been better if I had said to make the cut with more of an angle in towards the center so that the new wood that I'm cutting (that is attached to the damaged wood) is just a little bigger than...

Thanks tph. Just wondering how you had the correct measurements.....do you have a shaft for this model that you measured, or is the info on some Chris Craft specification chart? Thanks very much!

prop shaft for 1947 Chris Craft 17' Deluxe Runabout

Do any of you know the length of the prop shaft for a 1947 17' Chris Craft Deluxe Runabout? A year and a half ago I dropped off a prop shaft at a company recommended for doing this work by my ACBS chapter. I had used this prop/shaft repair company before and had been satisfied as I only lived an hou...

Re: Stuffing Box Packing - 1961 Chris Craft Ski Boat

Hi, there is an excellent article published April of 2005 via Compass Marine Services in Vancouver, BC about this. It was pointed out a week or so ago by another Woody Boater. I googled Compass Marine Services, and the results came up. On my search, the 4th subject down was "Compass Marine How To Ar...

Hi, I hope you enjoy your time with the De Luxe. Woody Boater and The Antique Chris Craft Club are great sources of information. I suggest you check out the Woody Boater site daily for great photos, stories and knowledge imparted by great people. Interestingly, in the last two years I restored two 1...

Re: 1968 17' SS Ski Boat

Hi, The 1968 Chris Craft catalog has a picture of the SS Ski Boat (I have 2 catalogs) where you can see the colors, but a better example is sold on eBay right now. There is a guy selling production photos of many years of Chris Craft models. When getting on the "Chris Craft" site on eBay (more of th...

Re: '48 17 Deluxe rudder

The rudder of a 1947 Deluxe Runabout that I am restoring, hull # 666, has a part number of 917. That boat was completed in March of 1947. Hope this helps you. Howard
