Don,
I didn't know about the barrier coat aspect in the process. I should really get to read your book.

I have a pair of K's still living on 6 volts just fine. If you keep your charging and starting systems in good working order 6 volts is quite sufficient. For me the only drawback is the problem w/ the 12 volt stuff you might want to use. Converting to 12 volt is pretty easy. The biggest expense is g...

Hi, Welcome to the Boat Buzz :D . I know I am speaking for many of us on this, if you can post some pictures of the problem we can get a better handle on it. If this is a showboat, replacement would probably be in order. If she's a user boat, filling or screwing or a combination of both might be fin...

It's good to hear it went in :). I, myself would prefer standard points in the dist. I'm more old school though. The prop might be OK. Just run it and see how it goes. If anything you might have to go up an inch on the pitch if you get too many RPM's. Was there a prop on the parts boat? If it is goo...

I have my 1956 28' Sedan w/ Flybridge and I find it quite easy to get to the foredeck thru the hatch easier than the catwalks also. Another difference is that an Express has less headroom down below. Mine has the twin K's which push her along fast enough and at slower speeds they are quite efficient...

Hi Norm, That 13170 lb. figure quoted by John is probably out of the Essential Guide is probably what the boat tips the scales at. Anyone correct me if I'm wrong, the displacement weight is the amount of water the boat displaces. If the auto-pilot is calling for displacement weight, that might be a ...

Hi Ryan, Looking good :D ! It's always feels good to see progress on a new project. I couldn't help to notice the vents on your cabin sides. They seem to me to be mounted on the wrong sides. The foward ones usually are the pick ups and the aft ones are the exhaust. Correct me if I am wrong anyone? :...

I can see your fears of back-siphoning. If you keep your bilge reasonably clean the siphon break won't plug. I have never seen or met anyone w/ first hand experience of a boat sinking because of this. It sounds like it would have to be a "perfect storm scenario" for one of these to sink your boat. J...
