Re: Clutch problem ?

The mouse wanted to be fed  They like WD40 or any lubricant where the shaft goes through the strut. You are not supposed to have a distinct neutral. forward and neutral only. Never leave it running in the water without someone behind the wheel.

It's a self bailer. Drains water while under way. Make sure the small vent on top is always open.

Re: Soaking

Be careful on how much water you put in the boat to soak it from the inside. It's not designed for that.

Re: K engine distributor shaft and oil pump

On the K series engines the camshaft drives the oil pump. The distributor is driven by the same accessory drive that drives the water pump. The distributor in turn drives the tachometer cable.

Pretty much all the previous post's are correct. The Holiday was a basic version of the Continental. If in doubt on the ceiling boards look for screw holes in the frames.

There is an angle adapter on top of the engine. Check that. They come in different ratios. If not 1-1 it is usually marked.

Not likely. The pulley is part of the flywheel.

Any work done recently? There are two shoulder bolts in the flywheel housing. Are they still there and in the right place?

The original manual says UJ-6 at .028 gap. J-6 is probably the current replacement

This is a Yale switch. The key slot is straight.

This is a Clum switch. The key slot is zig zag.
The larger Clum switch Matt is showing is an earlier model.

Very ambitious project. I looked at the blog and seen snow. I would start by winterizing the boat. Will the pond freeze?

Re: KL idle

The plumbing looks right. There is a chance the heat opens up a crack and water gets in. Pull the copper tubes from the manifold end cap and the elbow. Plug the holes and run it with no water in the intake and see what happens.

Takes a special tool. To make one use a thick plate of steel and drill the bolt holes in it. In the center drill and tap the center part from a Harmonic balancer puller.

Also if you can find the hull number stamped into the wood on the engine stringer would be helpful in id'ing your boat.
Quite often it is on the registration

Re: New battery - ammeter pegged at 0

Sounds like a meter problem. Disconnect the battery. Remove all the wires from one side of the meter. Test the ohms between the two terminals on the back of the meter. Should have continuity.
