Re: Carport for Boat
I could but I'm not sure that will help. I'm also advised the size is over the allowed 144 square feet. My son said it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission. I have two options that I'm working with at this point. 1. go in front of the zoning committee and see if I can somehow get a varian...

Well... the city denied my permit for the carport. They said I can have only 2 outbuildings on my property. My shed and my garage and that's it..

Keel Condition 70 Connie
I'm posting for the owner Jack Jensen in regards to his 1970 Connie keel splitting. He's unsure if something needs to be done to address the splitting. Do these photos help at all?

They have a frame upgrade from 14 to 12 gauge that would help and you can get the roof ribs orientated vertical to help with the snow.

Carport for Boat
I'm thinking about a carport to cover my overflow boat parking area. Halfway down on the sides for light and air flow. Probably 23X13X7. I don't want to stick build. I will be able to roll the boat into the garage when I'm working on it. Any pro's or con's on this? http://www.carport.com/?gclid=Cj0K...

Jim, Looking at some of your pics, with the boat turned on its side at some marina.....what is the story on what looks to be a chris craft seastrake cavalier in the background??? Looks like a nice one. Your project is really neat and the photos just make it all the better, thanks for posting, John ...

Re: Chris Craft Model K Fuel Pump Replacement
Ken,
Turn the key and hold it for a few seconds, it should fill up and start. Just be sure you do not have any leaks.
I've not once used that primer lever to prime the bowl. It will happen.

I like the slide hammer idea although I hear some "don't do it", have you had good luck with this technique?

Prop shaft coupler removal
I have only about 3.5 inches of room for a puller here once I add a backer plate to the coupler for the puller. Not to mention the starboard engine has more stuff in the way to even get in there. What do you guys suggest? This is a 1970 38 ft Connie.

Re: grape leaf 3 gauge panel
The panel is at the resto shop. The two outer holes are already a problem for fit. They are going to see what they can come up with.
The engine is a 63 283, should I consider an electric tachometer or stay with the mechanical? I do not yet have the cable at this time.
Thanks.

Its funny you say she's a "rare bird". There was at least two of these floating around up here in Port Huron when I was in high school. My dad had a beautiful 1948 Red and White. And although I loved that boat I used to hang out with my buddy on his dad's "sister ship" to this one. Honestly, it cou...

Model 100 Engine
Hello All, We purchased the boat without an engine so I’m researching what engine to power the 1930 model 100. It originally came with a Chrysler KM although I need more engine than that. The essential guide states Chrysler KM, Crown. Was the KM the only engine offered for this boat at the time? Wou...

Thanks for that product recommendation. Was that the latex or the original? Pictures? That's dangerous on this site. Lots of purist on the board :) I am refitting and doing a retro-mod. I want it to look original but be modern on the inside. New fuel injected crusader 8.1l engines, a modern helm wi...

Re: grape leaf 3 gauge panel
I don't mind the patina either actually. I'm missing two of the original gauges and all the bezels so they need to be reproduced. I wonder if the new gauges and bezels would look OK with the old patina panel? The back plate is steel so probably needs some protection from rust. The front detail piece...

I now have something to work with. These babies are hard to come by. At this time I'm considering having Mark Clawson build the fishscale gauges and have the panel plated at Artistic Silver Plating. You can see the outer hole rolled flange has been cut off on both holes and a small bump on the cente...
