Re: Mahogany Colored Paint?

Years ago when I first finished the bottom of the SeaSkiff I wanted a copper color but did not want an anti-fouling product. Unable to find what I was looking for I contacted Kirby's Paint Co. in New Bedford, Mass. They make from scratch old fashioned linseed oil base enamel paint just like grandpa ...

Hi all, In the past I have had vinyl lettering done to add interest to various things such as I have my boat descriptions and names on the side windows of my truck cap and I display the same information on my custom boat trailers. I am getting ready to paint a new trailer I just built for my 23 comm...

Re: Another boat, another trailer

Thanks Greg,
I felt fortunate to have found this boat and in as good condition as she is but the more research I do the more I find how rare and valuable she is.

Another boat, another trailer

Well the next chapter in my book is another boat, a 1968 23' Commander.
The previous owner did not want to part with the trailer so...
Out comes the torches and welder.
Had steel delivered last week so I'm ready to create.
I will post pictures as I progress. As always suggestions are always welcome.

Re: Valve covers and intake manifold for 327

Jim, Thank you so much. So now that I know I have the incorrect engine I have to make the decision to make this one stock again or is the originality of the boat blown without the correct engine and I should find a QA? Or should I go balls out and install a 502? (just kidding) LOL. This also brings ...

Re: Valve covers and intake manifold for 327

Interesting you mention that because I am getting conflicting information from the Commander forum on which engine this is. I will take some better pix and post them.

Re: Valve covers and intake manifold for 327

Those are the valve covers I'm looking for. I'm learning that the Q manifold is indeed a rare item and if I can't find one I will survive but if at all possible I want this engine to look like it came from the factory when I get done with it. Not sure if I remember how to post pictures but if they c...

Valve covers and intake manifold for 327

Hi Guys, I found a new toy, Don't judge me but I just acquired a 1968 CC 23 Commander. The original 327QA is there with only 450 hours on her. A previous owner replaced the original intake manifold with an aluminum high rise monstrosity and a holley 750 double pumper as well as finned aluminum valve...

Exhaust elbow for SeaSkiff

Hi Guys, it's been a while since I have been here but I'm back with a question. 6 years ago when I finished up the SeaSkiff I installed an exhaust elbow that I knew was not the correct one but with a little rigging it worked. At the time I was scraping the bottom of the money barrel so as long as it...
