If it doesn't pertain to metal, wood, wire or fabric—but it is about vintage Chris-Crafts, ask your question or give your advice here.

unknown missing part on 1962 Constellation

Post by Lynn Lucas » Thu Feb 22, 2018 4:37 pm

My boat has a mounting bracket or socket on the center line just in front of the main windshield. When I removed the headliner in the cabin I exposed a heavy block of wood overhead with an angular hole running through it. There are also three, three eighths holes through it that go up through the plywood upper deck. I assume carriage bolts went up to hold on some device. In addition three wires go across the ceiling and terminate at the place I am referring to, one of which is small gauge {14], and two heavy gauge maybe 10 . Maybe a light pole and horn assembly? I would like to get what was originally there. If any one knows pleas pass along the info. PS. the boat is 32 ft. long. Thank you, Lynn Lucas

Hi Lynn:

I am not 100% sure, but from your description it sounds like you are describing the location of a mast. Yes most of these have a "mast light" on the top and horns at the bottom.

These masts are hinged so they can be dropped down onto the deck for clearance.
