If it doesn't pertain to metal, wood, wire or fabric—but it is about vintage Chris-Crafts, ask your question or give your advice here.

I’m happy about this too. I’ve been going around w/ them about extending the hours in our section. Closing @ 5:00 is too early. It’s like they don’t care about anyone between May’s Point and Fairport.

Yeah , that does not make much sense how the western end of the canal closes at 5pm should be at least 8pm during the summer months.

Couldn't agree more. What's worse, my dock is in a 1 mile section between locks. :x

Just an update, I have been working w/ my state senator, assemblyman, and my town supervisor. The have all penned letters to the canal corp. I have also circulated a petition. Hopefully some political pressure on the powers that be will change things. It is too bad that they think they can marginalize us in such a way :x . I will keep you posted if we get the hours extended.

We are requesting that they extend the season also. I expect we should see some sort of action.

Last night I saw another episode of the PBS series on the Erie Canal, very well done and makes for fascinating television.

Just aside note , There are four cannals in new york for those of you that are not familiar they are Champlain, cuyuga seneca , Oswego and of coarse the famous erie all interconnected and fully operational . There are lots of classic boats to see along the canals besides history and site seeing. :D :D :D :D

We did visit the canal in Pittsford a few years ago while attending our granddaughter's graduation from UR. She currently lives in the area and we look forward to exploring the canal more.

I am in Pittsford, and I believe Captain Nemo is a few locks to the east and 61skiff is a few locks to the west. Let us know when you visit and we can meet up for a Canal side lunch and or drinks.

Matt, Opportunity missed, we were just up there for Easter but we will be up again and it would be great to get together. I see you are in Penn Yan also, I drove up there for the day last year to look at an Airplane for sale at the airport. Beautiful country!
