Recommendations for Critical Tools in your Onboard Tool Kit?
I’m wondering what you guys suggest as the MUST HAVE items in your onboard tool kit. I have a sneaking suspicion that the kit I keep in my 2014 ski & wakeboard boat is gonna be significantly different from what I’ll need for my 1936 Runabout, so I’m looking for the sage advice of the pros here on what I should keep on hand for any woody emergency

I haven't had an emergency yet … but here is what I carry anyway.
Torque Wrench
Head torque sequence (on paper)
Socket set (inch not metric)
Open end wrench set
Screwdriver (6 in one)
Electrical (pliers, strippers)
Prop puller
DMM (with clip leads)
Quart of oil
Custom stuffing box wrenches
Pliers
I am sure that if you have points (I don't) then you will carry stuff for that.

THis may sound nuts. But I have found that I use the tool kit that the boat came with. The folks at Chris Craft knew what would happen. HAMMER and a screw driver have been the number one tools used. in your case dont need a philips head. I do carry a set of sockets, but never used them, maybe pulling a spark plug. Your year tool kit might be different than others. jim Staib has a list

Five pound box of $20 bills?

Spare set of points (or Pertronix unit if that's what you use), coil, condenser, cap, rotor, 2 spark plug wires, set of spark plugs. The Digital Multimeter is a great thing to have as previously stated. The spare Pertronix unit is a must as either it works or doesn't and substitution is the about the only troubleshooting step if it comes down to the unit.
