Laclede, according to conrad, there was no 43 footer. there was a 46 ft, dced, in 1946, a 40 footer that year also. no other 1946s in the 40-50' range.

Sounds interesting...but....I would take anyone with a grain of salt that ever say "pristine" when describing the boat. What is pristine to one is not to others.....so it could be a big let down if you fly out here. Ive seen a bunch of these "old" guys out here that have spent big money on the "pristine" that they have....and I just have to shake my head because they are usually just butchered jobs.
Ive also never heard of a 43 footer.

I have heard that some measurements for length were taken along the gunwale, there by adding a foot or two.Don Vogt wrote:Laclede, according to conrad, there was no 43 footer. there was a 46 ft, dced, in 1946, a 40 footer that year also. no other 1946s in the 40-50' range.

That's a prewar hull with prewar vents and windshields. Might have been in production at the start of WW two and finished and sold post war. Looks like your sister ship.

Laclede, The folks with places on Lakes Lanier, Rabun, etc are more likely to have vacation homes on Park Ave in NYC than in a swamp. <G> Best, Jeff
