Waterproofing for canvas cover?

The custom made canvas cover for my runabout is no longer waterproof, but is otherwise clean and serviceable. Can anyone with experience recommend a brand of waterproofer that will restore the cover without risk of damage to a freshly varnished boat? I'm afraid that waterproofing liquids that use petroleum or mineral spirits for a vehicle would mar or fog the varnish.

I've used a product called 303 Fabric Protectant with excellent results. It is recommended by Sunbrella for their fabric, and by the Boston Whaler crowd. I used it on standard canvas. It is either aqueous or alcohol based, and I applied it to the cover off the boat, but once dry it shouldn't be an issue for your varnish.

Thank you all for your recommendations. I'll check the web for information on each of these products to see what would be best for cotton canvas.
