Laundering Sunbrella fabric
Just wondering. Has anyone tried putting Sunbrella fabric in a washing machine? I didn't see anything on the website saying you can't. I know I shouldn't put it in the dryer. My mooring cover has some mildew and other stains that I haven't been able to get out with light hand scrubbing last spring. I would like to get it clean b/4 I put it away for the season. It's the light oyster color (off white), and I was thinking a little bleach probably wouldn't hurt it. Any thoughts?

not sure bleach is a good idea. what about clorox 2? in any event, worth a call to sunbrella to see what they suggest. they advertise in the ccabc brass bell so good to thank them while you are at it!

I googled sunbrella and found this link:
https://www.sunbrella.com/en-us/how-to- ... upholstery
If you read down there a paragraph on mold / mildew that recommends a bleach and soap mix.

Re: Laundering Sunbrella fabric
I did the light scrubbing as per the website with a touch of bleach in the mix and it really didn't do much for it. By the end of this season it is just as bad or worse. I guess it's worth a call to Sunbrella. Thanks guys.

I was told by a canvas maker to use Oxi-Clean. It didn't seem to do much, so this spring I used Oxi-Clean and Bleach and it seemed to work better. Oddly enough the cleanest spot was where a cat peed on it. Anyone know where you can buy a gallon of Cat Pee? Don't think that would smell too good though.

im sure it can be arranged. I think oxi clean may have hydrogen peroxide like clorox 2? I would be afraid that chlorine bleach would attack the fibers of the threads but if that is what they recommend, i guess they know.
