Winterizing? Summerizing? Covering? Trailering? If it is about a boat out of water put it here.

Chris - Craft 26 Sedan Cruiser w/o fly bridge

Post by Gary Closter » Thu May 14, 2015 1:49 pm

I'm interested in finding a trailer for a 1956 Chris craft sedan cruiser. Have been searching literature trying to find the displacement and the closest thing I can find is the Higgins 26 sedan cruiser which displaces a little under 5000 pounds. Does anybody have an accurate displacement? Any recommendations or knowledge of the used trailers which could be fitted for this boat? Thanks so much for your reply.-Gary

The bible says 4543lbs. does not differentiate between engines.

Here is a trailer that might work.
The good: Adjustable axels, Inboards need the axels under the engine. Adjustable Bunks
The Bad: In order to get a trailer long enough the stock trailers have to much capacity 9,400 GVWR ,big tires and heavy springs cause a rough ride. Also looks like electric brakes (I'm not a fan) they are great on trailers that don't go for a swim.

It wouldn't hurt to give Loadmaster Trailers a call. I had them build a trailer for my boat "sight unseen" and they had all the data for the boat, I took a gamble went and picked up the trailer, picked up the boat in Ontario Canada and hauled it back home here in Wisconsin. The trailer worked flawlessly, and pulled like a dream. I realize this is an old post, but just in case you haven't found anything yet!
