Boat Buzz

I have what I believe to be a 17 ft 1955 CC Sportsman. The hull number stamped into the wood (I have found 2 locations) show 17S 600. I haven't seen the "S" in the numbers of others and wondered if others have seen this. Also I'd like to verify the model year of the boat. On one website I found the 1955 17 ft boats having running from 001 to 1031ish an in another it indicated the those numbers are for 1953 to 1955. Thanks for any help on this.

I used to own a 1955 17 foot Sportsman CC 17 2061. Hull card showed it as a 1955 but it probably was sold in 1956.
