This may sound dumb but when people talk about Pre-war boats what years are they talking about?

In the US, generally pre 1942, Canada went to war in sept '39

well, to bracket it in context, the historical boats per acbs ended with ww1. the pre wars picked up then and went thru the boats produced before the govt. shut down consumer production, i think in early 1942. In some cases, like chris-craft, there were some '42 models that were built starting earlier in 1941.
