What are the ODDs????

Post by Ed Andrews » Wed Aug 31, 2016 6:40 pm

I was searching through the club archives for information on CC Holiday's (I own a 1951 19') and I came across an ad in the 1977 Brass Bell from a Edw J Seaver from Ohio. He was looking for information on his boat which is Hull# H-19-027. MY BOAT!!! No luck in finding Mr Seaver, but this is the first lead I've ever had on who may have been the original owner.

WANTED. Inform, and sources, perhaps
drawings or photos, on steering wheel,
throttle & horn assembly for 1951
C-C Holiday, hull H-I9-027. Edw. J.
Seaver, 1360 Centerville-Station Rd.
Centerville, OH 45459.

Do you have your hull card and do you know where your boat was originally delivered?

Yes the boat was originally delivered to Dales Yacht Basin, Bay Head NJ. They no longer exist. Still trying to find information on Mr. Seaver. Maybe he bought the boat at the NY Boat show, had it delivered to Dale's and trailered it home to Ohio???

That seems unlikely as there would have been dealers closer to him than NJ... More likely that Mr. Seaver was not the original owner.

Tracking boat history if one of the hardest but more rewarding tasks for a classic boater. It is rather fun to see just how far a particular boat has traveled in its lifetime...
