what damage due to overheating is caused to a kbl alot of blowby.

Aluminum pistons expanded due to the heat, deposited alum vertical "stripes" on the cylinder walls. Piston rings not sealing any more. My 2 cents.

Depends on how hot it got.

But usually its piston rings and head gaskets.

The more wear on the engines the more likely the rings have lost there tension. Also overheating cause the oil film on the piston wall to glaze which don't allow the rings to seal anymore.

The head gaskets will straight passing combustion gases between the cylinders at the narrow part of the gasket.

For actual piston damage you have to get it extremely hot. Piston damage most time is caused from the engine running to lean. Which raises cylinder temps and melts the piston over time.
