Pics as promised...

Post by teacher » Tue Jun 18, 2013 2:39 pm

1964 Chris Craft Super Sport. Bought new by my father in law. Climate controlled garage kept until yesterday 06/17/13.
Gave it a very quick wash and snapped these pics. 197 original hours. Not used since 1973.

I'll "agree" it's a fantastic boat when I "get her running and on the water again," which I don't think will take too very long.

Beautiful boat! As some of us are gear-heads, how about some pictures of the engine when you have a chance?
Thanks.

Very nice :D ! Looks like your father in law loved and cared for that boat. It doesn't look like it will take much to get her going. Real cool 8) !

I wouldn't say he loved and cared for it the last 40 years. Here are a couple pics we'll call " before". As in, "before" I dug it out of the garage last week !!! You see, he's a real life HOARDER !!!
Some of you may shed a tear.......

It's enough to make a full grown man cry isn't it? Other side of the Vette is a 1971 SkiDoo snowmobile he bought new and ran a little the first couple years then put the cover on it for the last 40 years or so. Good thing about his hoarding is at least he bought quality toys, eh?

Wow. At least he covered the boat before using it as a storage unit.

WOW!

What a great boat. :D

I know you lust for an older barrelback or maybe a racing runabout, but she is a beauty and I hope you come to appreciate all she is.

She'll be a blast for sure. I love classic cars too and this is very similar. I do like the barrel backs way better, but the price was right on this 1, FREE !!! It'll be perfect for skiing and tubing the friends kids..

He drove it thru 8-9 Ohio winters. It needs some work. Frame rust and been sitting since 1978 or so.
