Copper exhaust pipe

Post by stevenreichman » Wed Jul 10, 2013 9:25 pm

What is the best material to "clear coat" copper exhaust pipe at the transom so it doesn't need continual polishing.
Thanks,

Nothing, mine had automotive clear coat over it when I bought it and it tarnished underneath anyway. Then I had to strip it all off. Putting a coat of vaseline over it is supposed to help when its in storage.

I was going to say chrome, but it is not clear and still requires an occasional polish.
