XK 22
Can anyone give me some insight regarding the value and desirability of the xk 22 compared to the xk 18 and 19?
I recently began looking for any of these 3 boats, and could have purchased a user xk 22 a few weeks ago for probably less than $7,000. I didn't though because I don't have room for that size boat.

Besides my wood cruiser, I have a great interest in Chris Craft Lancers, which were the hulls that the XK's were based on. There is an article in a past Brass Bell where CC designer Dick Avery talks about his design work with the XK and Lancers.
I owned a 19' Lancer and now have a 23' Lancer (the shear line was cut down for the XK 22). I haven't gotten to run my 23'er yet as it needs "some" work. But when I had my 19'er, it made me yearn for a larger hull. The 19'er was a great boat, but I like to go fast and long, and the 19'er just pounded a bit too much for sustained high speed (30 knots under just right conditions, WOT) running in the waters that I was running- Lake Erie. That's not to say the boat was not seaworthy, quite the contrary! But I wanted to slow down for head on wakes and such as little as possible. That led me to buy a 23' CC Scorpion and it did make a great difference. It was much more comfortable for sustained high speed running and had a cuddy space too. But I liked the classic yet modern form of the Lancers so I sold it and got my 23' project Lancer. I expect it's performance to equal that of the Scorpion or better it, and be classicly stylish too.
So I say the XK 19's are fntastic boats, but the XK 22's are very nice also, and you should get a more comfortable ride. And for me with just a plain 1/2 ton pickup truck, a 23-23'er is probably all you want to tow, launch and retrieve.
I used to have lot of fun with my 19' Lancer racing the Jet Express Jet Drive Catamaran Ferries out of Port Clinton, Ohio into Put- In- Bay on South Bass Island. I could outrun the original Jet Express and Jet Express II in calm water with only a few wakes, but the newer Jet Express III could pull me. And if I had to chop the throttle for too many wakes I couldn't keep up. But man it was fun when you would beat a newer Maxxum or Cobalt or Sea Ray (SOME of them) to the harbor entry buoy! Then you would slow down and they would see that an old fashioned looking Chris Craft had chewed 'em up, and Grandma was holding on for dear life in the back seat. Woo Hoo!

I have looked at it and it has many interesting pictures, especially of two XK22 6.9s. How does one find out who administers the site and how could I find out how to contact a particular boat owner.
Thanks.

Thanks, Bill and Peter.
I found that contact, too. I'll give him a call to see if he can direct me further. I'm trying to contact one of the XK-22 owners who uploaded pictures to the site but all there is are pictures and in some cases a state abbreviation and a boat name, but no contact info.
I have searched in our member hull registry, too, without success.
Thanks again.

There are two XK 22s for sale on ebay right now. I'll attach a link for each. I live in Louisville, KY and saw 2 of these sell a couple of years ago in the $7,000 range if I remember correctly.

Just found this discussion. I own a '73 XK 22. I actually bought it from the guy who built the 22 website. I will contact him and urge him to join and join this discussion.
As far as Value I paid $ 3000.00 for a 22 with all the hardware and gunked engine. After two years and shy of 50k in parts and labor i have a boat for sale that isn't worth that much. But it sure is cool and very fast at 60mph +.
