1977 lancer19'w/307engine
I am trying to"restore"this boat and am a little confused! The block was replaced with a 350 but it appears that all the 307 accesories were reused. The fuel pump has a "port" on it for a small hose to connect to the carb. but the carb. does not seem to have a port to connect to. Either I have the wrong fuel pump or the wrong carb.I have a parts manual for the 350FLV but the numbers are CC and I cant convert to Carter or Rochester numbers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks George

Post some photos of your engine set up so we can get a better idea of what your dealing with. I'm an amateur, but there are some very experienced mechanical guys on The Buzz that I'm sure can help. Lancers are GREAT boats!

Does it have a flame arrester? send a pic of that...maybe the pump failure hose connected up that way....and if not you can get an arrester that will......I think?

Carter sells a kit #888-74 to connect the vent tube to the flame arrestor.
Re: 1977 lancer19'w/307engine
Good morning everyone and thanks for all the replies! The flame arrester already has the pcv hose attached and no place for the vent gromment in the kit. After a little research I believe that I have the wrong fuel pump will check a bit further. Thanks again for all the replies.

According to the kit directions, you drill a 3/8 hole thru the top of the flame arrestor
and install the rubber grommet in that hole.
You then insert metal tube thru grommet and connect hose to that.
Hope this helps.

Thank you---That clarifies a lot of questions! As a matter of fact I talked to a mechanic friend of mine and he suggested basicly the same thing!! Many thanks for the help.

The tube from the fuel pump is a safety feature designed to flood the carburetor in the event of a diaphragm failure. It will dump fuel down the carb instead of all over your bilge.

Being a 1977 boat. If it has the original carb. It should have the fitting in the carb for the small tube from the fuel pump. You need to make sure you have a marine carb.
