427 oil pressure senders

Post by Herb K » Fri Jul 22, 2016 5:20 pm

Does anyone know what oil pressure sender is used on the Chris Craft 427 engine? I have tried various ones but the gauge just pegs at maximum. The gauge scale is 0 - 120 psi. Thanks

I might have some used ones. My commander had all the gauges changed out with modern ones by the previous owner. I bought matching senders for them.

The original senders worked. They just pegged the newer gauges.

Let me know if your interested. As far as I know I don't think you can get new senders. But if you can Mark Clawson of Clawson Classic Instruments would be the guy who would know.

Thanks Jim

I'd like to get them if you can spare them. If not both, then one sure would help. Let me know. My email is [email protected]

Thanks

Are they Stewart Warner gauges? If so, you must use SW senders. I got one on eBay a couple years ago and it works fine.
