Painting My 31' Chris Craft Scorpion

Post by Kenwho » Mon Mar 22, 2010 12:27 pm

I'm a newbie to the site, and I wanted to share some photos of my boat being painted.

I purchased the boat about a year ago after it sat in the water for a while without bottom paint.

It's a 1981 311 Scorpion. The engines are 2 x 2005 Evinrude Ficht 225's with about 500 hours on them.

The original cabin has been cut out of it,and fiberglassed in, and the transom was also fiberglassed in. It's a very solid boat in my opninion.

You can take a look at the photos here:

Let me know if you have any questions, and feel free to share any comments. Any constructive criticism or advice on the boat is appreciated.

Hi Ken,
Let me be the first to welcome you to the boat buzz. Anytime I hear about "cutting and filling" on a boat I cringe but I checked out the pictures and I for one think it's a right sharp looking boat. Good luck with the painting project and don't be afraid to ask questions. This place is absolutely filled with knowledgable people that are willing to help.

It's good to have wood!
