Drop leaf table
I am missing the drop leaf table for my 1948 33ft enclosed cruiser. I am having a difficult time locating one so I thought I would just make my own. Does anyone know where I could get plans to build an original style table? Or is there any "old boat" salvage yards that I can contact to inquire for a used one? Thanks you.
I have been looking for one for many years. Some time ago I found a fellow that was willing to part with one at the bargain price of only $1,000 - I'm still looking.
Over the years I have been measuring and taking pictures of some of the tables that I have found. I discovered that Chris Craft made small changes to the tables over the years but nothing that you would notice unless you knew what to look for. That said, Chris Craft did make one big change somewhere in the late 50s and released a table with a larger drop leaf and a pull out support leg.
I have a number of pictures if you want them.

Send me your e-mail address. I am at [email protected]. I have quite a few so I may need to send them in small bunches. I will also include my sheet on the basic dimensions of the table as well.

Hi guys,
I happen to have one of those tables, I haven't decided whether I want to keep it or not, but if I sold it it would probably go for that same price. Mine is the smaller one, not the one Tom has pictured. I would think the hardest part to replicate would be the fastening mechanism at the bottom. But if you get a lead on those knobs let me know, I would like extras for the fly bridge chairs!
I might be able, while I refinish it, to make a cardboard template for you if that would be handy.

The good news I was able to get a Chris Craft Drop Leaf Table. The bad news is that it was “repaired” by what I’ll call a redneck carpenter with an odd assortment of wood, screws and bolts.
The table has a part number stamped that reads:
49 62 – I don’t know if the space was deliberate or not.
456
My question is does anyone have any idea what the 49 62 represents? I think the 456 is the actual part number.

Table Numbers
Tom
The numbers on my 1948 36 Double Stateroom Enclosed Cruiser table match my hull numbers,36-099. There is also a number 3. The numbers on your table probably reference hull size and production number.
Our boats are very similar and I suspect the tables were as well. My table is 47 1/2 inches long and the spaceing between the lock down nuts is 35 1/4 inches to center.
You have a great looking boat and I hope this info is helpful.

Thank You Dan for the information. The table that I picked up is somewhat rare and unique in that it is the larger drop leaf table that Chris Craft built for I assume there larger boats. My table has fold out legs that support the two drop leafs.
The standard Chris Craft drop leaf table measured 48” long * 36” wide (open) & 28 1/2" high. The top was three pieces each 12” wide. With my table the drop leafs are 17 ¾ inches wide.
I had heard of these tables and even had two different pictures of what they looked like but had never seen one in person. On the table that I picked up both fold out legs had been broken and someone did a piss poor job of bastardizing a repair.
After a lot of looking, thinking, measuring and picture taking I have started the work to recreate the original fold out legs. At this point I have rough cut the new wood and will begin the process of milling, routing and attaching the new legs.
New stock

a finished table
Very poor repairs

Re: Drop leaf table
Bumping an old thread.
I am looking for a genuine drop-leaf table for my 1948 Deluxe Sedan Cruiser.
I missed a beautiful one on eBay back in April for only $425
I'd consider any condition for a reasonable price.
Thanks all!
