Tavares - Vintage Regatta & Boat Show Photos ???!!!

Post by Bill John » Thu Apr 08, 2010 9:37 am

After many years of wanting to make the Mt Dora/Tavares ACBS boat show and many years of excuses, this is the year that we finally made the trek south to sunny and warm Florida. We hauled My Precious to participate at both the Tavares Vintage Race Boat Regatta and then the Tavares Antique & Classic Boat Show the following weekend. The weather was sunny and warm, the vintage boats absolutely stunning and we had a great time ???!!!

Bill, thanks for sharing the photos. It's nice to see the vintage race boat element from Tavares. Looks like a lot of fun.

Not sure of the story on the boat below but it deserves a caption.

Bill,

Thanks much for posting all of the photos. Very enjoyable, especially of our ride through Dora Canal on Friday to lunch on Lake Harris. I enjoyed meeting you and your wife on Frank's great Sea Skiff.

Although I just met Frank Ruff and his wife at this show, it wasn't the first time that I had been on that boat. His boat was at our show in '07 on the Mississippi River near St. Louis, MO, when Dick Baner owned her. Small world.

Thanks for the pictures!

That tiki barge would be a great hit where I'm from. I mean huge!
