The Geneva Lakes Boat Show is officially open for registration! The show is scheduled for the 24-26 of September at The Abbey Resort in Fontana WI on Lake Geneva. The pre-show events this year are outstanding, not to be missed. On Friday morning we will be visiting two estates by boat followed by lunch at the Lake Geneva Country Club. Friday evening will include cocktails and a buffet at the O'Neill's estate. For all the details visit the boat show web site at www.GenevaLakesBoatShow.com Last year we had a record number of boats. In water slips are limited so register early.
The Chris Craft Club will be there again this year supporting classic wooden boats, thanks Bill Basler!

We had a blast at this show last year. Not only were we able to talk with a lot of prospective members, we were able to meet up with a lot of current member/friends.
If you are all wondering what a show is like in late September on a beautiful lake in southern Wisconsin....well it's about ideal. Last year was sunny and 75 degrees. Maybe a bit warmer. I was told by my wife and kids that the outdoor pools were heated to perfection. The Abbey Resort is a perfect venue for an antique boat show with boats moored in a protected harbor. And with live music, an outdoor bar, plenty of grassy green space, and several restaurants to choose from, it's really hard to beat.
Consider this 2010 show a warm up for the 2011 ACBS International show. The Chris-Craft Antique Boat Club will be there again this year. Last year we enjoyed the company of Matt Byrne, and his staff including members Larry and Kathy Lange. Also present were Chad, Andrea and Lily Durren, Mr and Mrs Matt Smith all the way from Woodyboaterville, VA.The Nelson's from Nelson Boatworks, Minnetrista, MN were there. Member Don Taylor provided rides for us in Mr T III his Streblow.
For those traveling by air, you will have great access via Chicago O'Hare or to Milwaukee. Each of these are less than an hour away. For those driving, it's right smack dab in the middle of the US. Well, OK, a bit north but in the middle East to West!
Last year was a fun, entertaining, and beautiful weekend. We hope to see you all there this year.
