37th Annual ACBS Lake Winnipesaukee Boat Show - July 23-24

Post by Bill John » Thu Jul 01, 2010 5:41 am

Our annual Antique & Classic Boat Show at the Meredith public docks is a huge gathering
of beautiful antique and classic wooden boats, with large crowds and over 80 vintage
wooden boats on display all day in a judged competition. This is quite a sight to behold,
and for a special treat get to the docks early on Saturday morning to watch and listen as
the vintage boats arrive under their own power. There will also be a large static display
of vintage race boats. The sights and sounds are magnificent, and to get an idea of the
magnitude of this gathering of wooden boats, please take a moment to view our photo
album from last year's show. Chris Craft will be the marque boat this year and we are
expecting a large showing of Chris Craft antique and classic boats. Tony Mollica,
author of Chris Craft Boats will also be our special guest at the Awards Dinner on
Saturday night, and will give a talk on Chris Smith and his very special boats. As usual,
the weather forecast for our 37th Annual Boat Show at Meredith will be sunny and hot,
as we fill the Meredith public docks with our beautiful vintage boats.

I wish I could be there, but I'll be in Green Lake, WI that weekend unfortunately. I'd love to see this show next year though!

I attended this show a number of years ago and I would recommend it for sure. Beautiful part of the country and some very nice boats.

Funny story....I took my 19'Racer there one year with wife's name and "Tallahassee, Fl" on the transom. While standing next to two locals admiring the boat I overheard one say, Can you believer these rich b@$!ards with nothing better to do with their money than drag a boat all the way up hereto New Hampshire from Florida just to show it off?" I elected to remain silent. The boat did get a first place plaque and that was nice.

Great show !...always has been and has come a long way since Jimmy Irwin and Vinny Callahan organized it 37 years ago. They were a pair of hell raisers...May they rest in peace
