Chad... You beat me to it. Glad you posted those great pics as I have dial up and would of taken me forever to post my pics.
My Dad and I thoroughly enjoyed the show. I think it was one of the best in several years with a host of different and unique boats.
I wonder how many of my fellow Club members I passed by and didn't even know it? Don't you think we should have some sort of button or such so we could 'find' one another at these shows?

I agree, great job on the pics Chad! There's little reason for me to post mine as yours tell the story so well. I think the button idea is a good one. Seems we often discuss this after the fact. My transportation to the show was via the ferry Straits of Mackinac II out of Mackinaw City to Hessel. This made for a most enjoyable day full of boats and wonderful weather.

Yep, even cooler was the twin engine Sportsman "Friendship". Once owned by Chris Smith's father. The decking over the engines was added later. The original engine boxes used to have an integrated live well and bait box, plumbed into the boat's water pump. With an aft steering control arm so you could manage your lines and troll solo from the stern.

I think it would be appropriate to note here that Chad's 18' utility, LILY, won not only another "Best in Class" award, but also "Best Chris Craft" at the Hessel show this past weekend.

That's sort of like somebody's momma buying a ticket to Rome to enter a pasta contest and taking home the blue ribbon. Hessel is one of the meccas of antique boat building. With the concentration of antique craft in the area..........that's sort of like somebody in the states buying an airline ticket to Rome to enter a pasta contest and taking home the blue ribbon. Congratulations Chad!
