2011 Best Chris-Craft Awards

Post by Don Vogt » Mon Jun 11, 2012 4:35 pm

A central goal of the Club is to promote the acquisition and preservation/restoration of Chris-Craft boats. Potential Club members and existing member/owners are often encouraged in this effort through attending/participating in boat shows. Traditionally, the Club provided some recognition in various forms including award certificates to those whose Chris-Crafts were awarded Best Chris-Craft at these shows. The Club would like to bring back this practice, and provide appropriate recognition to those who go the extra mile in working on their boats.

We are working with the judged shows that we know of to ensure that there is a Best Chris-Craft award at each show, and where possible, to have a Club representative join in the award. For example, Directors Ayers and Harrison were on hand for the Best Chris-Craft award at the recent Houston Keels and Wheels show.

In addition, we will be posting photos of Best Chris-Crafts awarded during 2011 at this blog, and new awards as they come in this year (please see the blog 2012 Best Chris-Craft awards). Our ultimate goal, when the website is updated, is to give these boats and their owners a separate place for the display of these boats.

Most of these are ACBS shows, and we will be getting pictures from them. If you know of any non-ACBS shows which have such an award, please let us know. Or if they don't, please give us a contact and we can work the the show organizers to see if we can help establish such an award.

There are a tremendous number of fabulous Chris-Crafts out there, and we think this effort will not only recognize the hard work that went into them, but will be a source of inspiration for the rest of us.
