My boat has never been in the water longer than a week. It is normally on a lift. I like the two layers of plywood with 5200 in between. Minimal expansion or shrinkage. With good quality 1088 plywood sealed with CPES to lessen water penetration I think it could be left in for awhile. So many different theories!!

Thank you for the reference to the restoration done on your Red and White. That is a better bottom than factory and I expect it can be left in the water indefinitely with no issues. JR asked if you had the bottom encapsulated, and I would be interested in the answer to that. I am also full of spiteful envy at seeing boats inverted to do a new bottom. My best friends are my crawler and the knee pads that I use while I replace the bottom on my cruiser. The pictures of the your restoration gave me tons of information and renewed confidence... thanks again.
