advice

Post by HappenMaker » Tue Feb 02, 2016 6:05 pm

Ok so I took a break for 6 months on this project. I am ready to move forward (I Think) frame work is done new fasteners throughout. Where can I find red Bilge paint for the inside of the inner ply? I have precut the inner ply but have not set it with 5200 yet.

Ditto on Sandusky paint. http://www.sanpaco.com
Boats are to be made of wood, otherwise, God would have grown fiberglass trees.

Not a good idea to paint the plywood before you apply 5200. Only if you don't paint where the frames touch the plywood. We paint the frames, chines and keel prior to installing the inner bottom but we only apply CPES to bare wood where the 5200 will have contact. If you paint the frame bottoms an then the inner your 5200 bond will be greatly compromised.
