1964 Cavalier 26' Futura-What is this??

Post by ChrisCav63 » Sat Dec 09, 2017 11:32 am

HI CCABC Friends

Recently purchased this boat, but have no idea what this gizmo is. (Bought through a 2nd party, they didn't know either)

It sits in front of the helm, goes into the cabin above the headliner and heads towards the starboard side. Looks like a cable of some sort but its frozen. Haven't figured out where it ends.

That looks like it is a control for a searchlight that was mounted on the cabin top at one time.

Like the captain said....surely a spot light twist handle.....one of the cheaper models...likely not a "one mile ray" brand.
You can find one of those on Ebay.

Thanks All

Surely had me stumped. Searchlight is long gone so don't see the need to replace. Too many other things to work on.

Sometimes it's better to delete things to make things simpler. K-I-S-S method- keep it simple stupid,.

This is what the search light mechanism looks like on the bigger cruisers.
