Which one is it? V drive or stern drive? What year, completeness of hardware, condition etc.?

V drive is either a 1969 or 1970. From the pictures, it looks like it is very weathered and uncovered. I would plan on a very complete restoration job and assume you will end up spending more than you will be able to sell it for unless you do a lot of work yourself. If you look you will see a few completed examples for sale with very high asking prices. You will also see they have been for sale for a while.

That said it is the V drive and they command a higher price and it is a very rare boat. If you really want one, you can't afford to walk away from too many waiting for the perfect opportunity. What is the owner asking? How bad do you want it? Are you prepared to completely strip it down and do a full glass up restoration?

Looks pretty weathered, but it's in a lot better condition than the roof on the house in the background. Thats a sweet little boat when restored and would have some real value. What's it worth? Make your best low offer and see what happens. If it's not excepted you can always negotiate up. Then you'll have to decide what it's worth to you. Best of Luck!

You best get right on this ASAP. Your local auditor website may list the property owner of record and give you a head start. You have just inadvertently advertised what may be the fiberglassic find of the month. Good luck!!!

Good luck with that, they are definitely getting harder to come by.
I can tell by the vents that it is a 1970.

When you find him, offer $750, I bet he takes it unless he really knows what he has.

Even if he negotiates, I think anything less that $2500 is a great buy if the engine still turns over.

I purchased a turn key 1969 formula for $10k. When I turned the key engine blew +5k. Next attemp for boat ride water pouring in from I/O +2k. I now into this for $17k mine as well have it repainted an make perfect + 5k. Just because these boats are fiberglass they are still expensive to restore. Assume everything on boat is bad including the stringers which you will need to fix.

If it is indeed a Commander, it would be a 1969 model. The boat was transferred to the Corsair Division in 1970 and was marketed as the Corsair XK-19 from 1970 - '75. Both V-Drive and Stern-Drive Commander models were available in 1969, and as Corsair models in 1970. Later Corsair models ('71-75) were all Stern-Drives (for what it's worth).
