Correct Interior Stain Color

Post by maritimeclassics » Mon Jan 18, 2016 1:06 pm

Can someone give me the stain manufacture and color for the interior of a 1961 25' Constellation? I purchased this boat about 3 months ago and I am replacing a bulkhead and need to match the stain to the rest of the boat. I have seen this color in almost all the Connie's over many years buy I never had a job where I needed to re-stain. Thank you,

My boat came with a can of original Chris Craft interior stain. The (beat up) paper label only contains the name Chris Craft, and other mix, stir instructions. Thought there may be original supplier info, but not visible if it was ever there.
The Maritime Museum included a list of stain colors when I ordered info on my boat. It appears there were some options other than the standard "Cordova". My previous boat owner had a stain mixed to match at a paint place and I can't detect a difference.
I bet you can get a match locally as well.
