Ignition switch

Your old Chris-Craft electrical system can be a challenge. If it runs on "juice" pose your questions and offer your advice here.

Ignition switch

Post by tparsons56 » Sun Jun 25, 2017 6:30 am

Recently on my 1941 19' Custom when I turn the key on its not making connections unless I giggle the key or turn it on and off several times so I assume it's just something inside that is dirty or corroded. What's the best way of cleaning the inside of the switch?

I would probably just find a replacement. The hassle of disassembly isn't really worth the effort sometimes. It's likely that it's just worn out.
Boats are to be made of wood, otherwise, God would have grown fiberglass trees.
