battery

Post by jake » Thu Apr 05, 2018 1:21 pm

I am restoring a 17 ft ChrisCraft barrelback and will go from 6 to 12 volt. I know what to change on the engine, bulbs etc but if it will be a boat to be judged what 12 volt battery should be used and where would I purchase. Any help would greatly be appreciated. If you're worried about point deduction then don't convert. If not, then get a battery with the highest CCA that fits your battery box and go boating. At some point I believe ACBS rules will adjust and minimize 12 volt conversions on safety grounds. I thought about cutting up a 6 volt battery and overlaying on the 12 volt as a visual fake out.
