Quiet bilge blower?

Your old Chris-Craft electrical system can be a challenge. If it runs on "juice" pose your questions and offer your advice here.

Quiet bilge blower?

Post by bparker » Wed Jul 24, 2013 11:54 am

I can understand that being able to hear your bilge blower working might be beneficial, but I'm wanting to use a very quite inline fan for an in-cabin application. Hair dryer like noise would not be good. Any input on a quiet 3" or 4" blower fan? Or are they all fairly quiet? No experience here. Thanks.

I was looking to fresh up the dead air in my small Skiff cabin as well - West Marine, motorhome folks and other vendors carry simple 12v circulating fans. West has a little one that looks to be the size you are looking for - it is open so watch your digits.

I'm actually hoping a small inline blower would work because I would like to distribute/divide the airflow through simple some ductwork. The noise factor is my concern here. Are those cheap little bilge blowers noisy? Anyone?

This is a bit of a loaded question.

During the day while sitting on the deck having cocktails I doubt you will barely hear it. Trying to sleep while you flow air though the cabin may be a different situation.

Maybe I would buy one and hang on to the receipt, hook it up and return it if I was not satisfied.

Good luck!
